Thank you everyone that supports the Winter Music Festival! See you Next year
The "Winter Blues" Music Festival was conceived in November, 2011. It started like most good things, with a glass of wine. Why don’t we start something new in Portland, Oregon? Let’s have an indoor Music Festival in the winter while we wait for the summer to return.
Three months later the first "Winter Blues" Music Festival was born -- February 18 & 19, 2012. An amazing core group of 10 members donated a lot of their time to plan this event in a very short time. "Winter Blues" wouldn’t have happened without the sponsors who graciously helped support us for our first year.
We were very proud of our first Festival and much of our success was thanks to the following musician groups: Lisa Mann and Her Really Good Band, Knuckleheads with Satellite Malone, Woodworks, The Love, Franco Paletta & The Stingers, Rae Gordon Band, Chance Hayden and Shelly Rudolph, Stan Ruffo Band, Madman Sam, Tongue & Groove, Suburban Slim & Jim Wallace as well as Return Flight. They all participated in this fantastic event.
My Goal for the Winter Blues Music Festival is first most, how to give back to the community. That's easy starts with a few musicians, that I get within the west coast area, have a fabulous charity like past years, Children's Healing Project, United by Music North America, and now Youth Music Project. We also help the hungry by having everyone bring in canned goods for the Oregon Food Bank.
After years have gone by, I keep thinking this is the last year, but you the people keep this festival going by telling your friends and asking is there a Winter Blues Music Festival this year.....
So Thank you all for keeping this Music Festival alive!
Winter Music Festival has 6 bands that play in one day. We have 2 stages, and amazing large dance floor, with 2 bars and food available. I have had amazing musicians, from local artist Rae Gordon, Lisa mann, Kevin Selfe, to Janiva Magness, Kara Grainer, and past legend Smokin Joe Kubek, plus many others.....
